Tutoring in Hobart for Years 1 to 12

5-STARS TUTORING YOU CAN COUNT ON

Tutoring Services in Hobart

For families in Hobart, finding the right tutor can be about more than simply choosing someone nearby. Online tutoring provides greater flexibility and access to a wider range of experienced tutors, making it easier to find someone who is genuinely well matched to a student’s learning needs, personality and goals. Rather than being limited by location, families can connect with the right tutor regardless of where they are based.

RF Tutoring works with Hobart students online, and in-home where a tutor is available locally, matching each student to a tutor based on their subject, year level and learning style. Whether it's a Year 5 student needing reading support, a Year 9 student with gaps in maths, or a Year 12 student working through TCE requirements, sessions are shaped around the student's actual schoolwork.

Understanding School in Tasmania

Tasmanian students work towards the Tasmanian Certificate of Education, or TCE, overseen by the Tasmanian Assessment, Standards and Certification body, TASC. The TCE is Tasmania's senior secondary qualification, generally completed across Years 11 and 12 through a mix of TASC-accredited courses, with results able to support an ATAR for students pursuing university entry. The ATAR is a calculated rank rather than part of the certificate itself. Before senior secondary study, Tasmanian students follow the Australian Curriculum, with NAPLAN providing a national literacy and numeracy check at Years 3, 5, 7 and 9.

Tutoring tends to help Hobart families most with steady primary support, the jump into more demanding high school expectations from around Year 8, and structured help through TCE subjects and assessment in Years 11 and 12.

In-home tutoring, where available

In-home sessions depend on tutor availability in your specific area online tutoring is a genuine and widely used alternative here, not a fallback.

Tutoring For All Ages All Subjects

Tutoring is an investment in your child's future. By equipping them with essential skills they'll carry well beyond high school, we help set the foundation for long-term success.

Primary School

Many parents wonder whether tutoring can help their child at a young age, and the answer is yes. Early support strengthens subject understanding, builds confidence, and develops essential learning skills.

Through our in-home tutoring and online tutoring, your child receives focused, personalised support that's hard to achieve in a busy classroom. Our tutors make lessons fun and engaging, so children enjoy learning (even math!).

High School

We offer a unique and individualised learning experience for high school students in Years 7–12, supporting both the Junior Secondary curriculum and Senior Secondary curriculum and exam preparation. Our tutoring covers key subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English, helping students strengthen core skills and achieve meaningful academic progress.

Our tutors encourage critical thinking, build strong study habits, and guide students toward becoming confident, independent learners.

ATAR

The ATAR system can be complex to navigate and that's exactly why we're here to help.

Our ATAR tutors, along with our expert in-home and online tutoring services across major Australian states, support Year 11–12 students as they navigate ATAR, unlock their potential, and gain a real competitive edge.

How RF Tutoring Works

We start by understanding your child's year level, subject and what's prompting the search for tutoring a specific gap, general support, or TCE-focused help. We take your child's personality and learning style into account when matching a tutor, which matters just as much online as it does in person. The first session is about the tutor getting to know your child and starting to build rapport, and lessons then work on schoolwork, assignments or TCE requirements and on your child' s goals. We provide ongoing updates, and given how much a Tasmanian family's needs can shift term to term, the schedule can be adjusted as things change.

How It Works

Finding a tutor can be difficult so we've saved you the hassle of scrolling through hundreds of tutor profiles.

3 Simple Steps

Every Session You Complete
Contributes To Eradicating Illiteracy In Women

The right to education is a fundamental human right. We believe it is our responsibility to help make a change.

Together, the RF Tutoring community and the Egyptian Orphan Fund are helping eradicate illiteracy in women. Each tutoring session you complete contributes to the Education Program.

The Education program provides adult numeracy and literacy classes to help women in the most impoverished communities get a chance to change their lives for the better. Not only does each lesson you complete help educate sponsored orphans but you are also helping to educate single mothers to increase their chances of finding a job.

Thank you for helping change someone's life.
