5-STARS TUTORING YOU CAN COUNT ON

Tutoring in Perth for Years 1 to 12

Whether your child needs ongoing support from a primary maths tutor, help closing learning gaps before Year 10 subject selection, or targeted WACE maths tutoring, every one-on-one session is tailored to their school curriculum, learning goals, and individual needs. By focusing on what's happening in the classroom, we help students build confidence, strengthen understanding, and achieve lasting academic progress.

Understanding School in Western Australia

Western Australian schools follow the WA Curriculum, set by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA), which covers learning from kindergarten through to Year 10. From Year 11, students move into the Western Australian Certificate of Education, or WACE, the senior secondary qualification SCSA oversees for Years 11 and 12. Meeting WACE requirements involves a mix of compulsory and elective units, a minimum standard in literacy and numeracy, and for students planning to go on to university course, combinations that support an ATAR, the rank universities use for admission rather.

Along the way, NAPLAN gives Perth families a national check-in at Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, covering literacy and numeracy. It's one data point among many, useful for spotting a gap early.

Tutoring is often most valuable for Perth students at key stages of their education: building confidence in primary maths and reading before learning gaps widen, supporting a smooth transition into the increased demands of high school, preparing for NAPLAN in a way that reduces rather than adds to stress, and providing Year 11 and 12 students with structured, WACE-aligned support as assessment weighting and academic expectations increase throughout senior school.

Tutoring Services Across Perth

Primary tutoring

For a Year 3 or 4 student still finding their feet with reading fluency or number facts, or a Year 6 student preparing for the jump to high school, primary tutoring focuses on the fundamentals without turning learning into another source of pressure at home.

High school tutoring

Perth high school students often start to struggle around Years 8 and 9, when subjects become more abstract and homework demands increase. It’s common for a student to understand algebra during class but struggle to complete the homework independently. One-to-one tutoring provides the time and individual attention to slow down, identify where they’re getting stuck, and build their confidence step by step.

Maths tutoring

From times tables through to WACE Methods, maths tutoring in Perth supports students across every stage of their learning. Rather than relying on a generic approach, tutors can work with the methods and concepts being taught at the student’s school, helping them understand the material in a way that directly connects with their classroom learning.

English tutoring

Common areas of focus include essay structure, reading comprehension, and developing strong reading skills, particularly as students approach Year 10 and the more demanding English units in senior school.

Science and other subjects

Support isn't limited to Maths and English. RF Tutoring also covers science, humanities and senior electives, with tutoring tailored to the subjects and content each student is currently studying at school.

NAPLAN tutoring

Targeted preparation for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9, helping students become familiar with the format, build confidence and strengthen the skills they need.

WACE and ATAR-linked senior support

For Year 11 and 12 students, tutoring can focus on specific WACE units, exam preparation and developing a manageable study routine across multiple subjects, helping students stay on top of increasing demands throughout senior school.

Assignment and exam preparation

Whether it's a Year 9 assignment due next week or Year 12 revision six weeks out from exams, sessions are built around deadlines.

Catch-up and intensive tutoring

For a student who's missed school, moved between year levels, or simply fallen behind in one subject, more frequent sessions can provide the consistent support they need to catch up and rebuild their confidence without feeling overwhelmed.

Online and in-home tutoring

Online tutoring is available to students anywhere in Perth and across WA more broadly. In-home availability depends on tutor availability in your specific suburb. Many Perth families use a blend of both across the week.

After-school flexibility

Sessions are designed to fit around school pick-up, sport, extracurricular activities and family commitments, making tutoring easier to manage alongside everyday life.

Why Perth Families Choose RF Tutoring

Perth parents don't need another generic tutoring platform they need someone who'll actually match their child with the right person and stay flexible about how sessions happen. RF Tutoring's tutors are handpicked for subject knowledge and for patience and communication, matched to your child specifically rather than assigned by whoever's next in a queue. There's no lock-in contract, so a term that gets busy with sport or exams doesn't lock you into a schedule that no longer fits. Tutoring For All Ages All Subjects

Tutoring is an investment in your child's future. By equipping them with essential skills they'll carry well beyond high school, we help set the foundation for long-term success.

Primary School

Many parents wonder whether tutoring can help their child at a young age, and the answer is yes. Early support strengthens subject understanding, builds confidence, and develops essential learning skills.

Through our in-home tutoring and online tutoring, your child receives focused, personalised support that's hard to achieve in a busy classroom. Our tutors make lessons fun and engaging, so children enjoy learning (even math!).

High School

We offer a unique and individualised learning experience for high school students in Years 7–12, supporting both the Junior Secondary curriculum and Senior Secondary curriculum and exam preparation. Our tutoring covers key subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English, helping students strengthen core skills and achieve meaningful academic progress.

Our tutors encourage critical thinking, build strong study habits, and guide students toward becoming confident, independent learners.

ATAR

The ATAR system can be complex to navigate and that's exactly why we're here to help.

Our ATAR tutors, along with our expert in-home and online tutoring services across major Australian states, support Year 11–12 students as they navigate ATAR, unlock their potential, and gain a real competitive edge.

How RF Tutoring Works

It starts with a conversation about your child’s year level, subjects, challenges and goals. We then consider their personality and learning style when matching them with a tutor, because the right fit can make a real difference.

The first session focuses on understanding where your child is at, identifying areas to work on and building rapport. From there, sessions are tailored to their schoolwork, assignments, assessments or WACE preparation. We keep you updated on progress and adjust the approach as your child’s needs change.
